Prof. Pim Martens in Advisory Board of sustainability program Tokyo University
Professor Pim Martens has been appointed as a member of the International Advisory Board of the Graduate Program in Sustainability Science – Global Leadership Initiative (GPSS-GLI) of Tokyo University (Japan).
The board has been founded on the occasion of the 3rd GPSS-GLI International Symposium, which will be held on 19-20 January in Tokyo. The goal is to gather renowned experts from around the world who are involved in sustainability and related education in order to help provide a ‘sustainable’ direction of the program.
The advisory board’s activities will include reviewing program curriculum and educational activities, providing advice and guidance for continual improvement, helping identify perspectives or future directions that GPSS-GLI should pursue and suggesting new ideas concerning pedagogy, curriculum, underlying educational concepts, and other educational issues regarding sustainability science.
The Graduate Program in Sustainability Science (GPSS) began in 2007 as an interdisciplinary master’s degree program in the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences of The University of Tokyo. In 2011 GPSS became certified as a “Program for Leading Graduate Schools” by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Technology of Japan (MEXT).
